Bliss Balls Recipe

Craving something satisfying, healthy and raw to eat? Then try this recipe for a blissfully delicious treat!

Blissballs

After tasting and enjoying some naughty rum balls at a friend’s house I started looking for a healthier version for a guilt free treat. I wanted them to taste great while being packed full of nutritious goodness to act as a pick-me-up during the day. We also wanted them to be energising on our hiking trips! After a little internet searching I found a recipe, made a few changes and ta-daa!

Blissball Ingredients

Bliss Ball Recipe

1/2 cup Sunflower seeds
1/2 cup Pepitas (the green kernel from a pumpkin seed)
1/2 cup Goji berries
1/2 cup Sultanas

1/3 cup Honey
1 cup Unhulled tahini
2 heaped tbsp Raw cacao powder
2 tbsp Chia seeds
1/2 cup Desiccated coconut (plus more for coating)
2 tbsp Sesame seeds

Blend the first 4 ingredients until the nuts are small and the sultanas stick it all together. Place in a large bowl and add the rest of the ingredients, mix well.
Mold them into 20 small balls and roll in some more coconut. Once coated, place in a container and let them set in the fridge. Easy!

Blissball Mix

You can add different types of nuts or dried fruit to the mix if desired, however ensure you keep the good stuff in!
Chia is a great source of healthy omega-3 fats and fiber, Goji berries are full of antioxidants and the benefits of Raw cacao range from improving heart function to alleviating stress. These are a great energy boost or desert alternative and will last for a couple of weeks in the fridge.
